Fruit, nuts and flowers from Beechworth farmers, vignerons and gardeners express the bounty of the earth at Anglican Christ Church Beechworth for Harvest Sunday today.
The service honours all in our community who work the land and provide and prepare the food we eat.In our beautiful historic church, the stewardship of the earth by First Peoples is celebrated in the sanctuary where, by the altar, kangaroo grass Themeda triandra, blackwood Acacia melanoxylon, and mistletoe Ameyema pendula have been placed.
Farmers, vignerons, market gardeners, flower growers, winemakers, chefs and cooks are celebrated with an abundance of their produce: eggs, cider pears, quince, winegrapes, apples, pumpkin, tomatoes, lavender, dahlia, rose hips, chestnuts, hazelnuts, hydrangea, figs, salad greens, kale, and wine.
Christ Church. So much to discover. Open 9:00am-5:00pm daily. Visit, or find out more at beechworthanglican.com.au.
